Elegant Five-Piece Silver Tea & Coffee Service

A beautiful five-piece silver tea and coffee service.

It comprises a teapot, coffee pot, hot water pot, sugar bowl and cream/milk jug. Each piece is round, plain and bellied with a beautiful frieze of scrolls, shells and shaded patterns around the top of the body. They all stand on plain pedestal bases.

The teapot, coffee pot and hot water pot each have original ivory handles and finials, with hinged lids. The sugar bowl and cream/milk jug have plain shaped silver handles.

This is a marvellous set, and the addition of a hot water pot to refill the teapot and the coffee pot is a real bonus. The engraving is very attractive and discrete. The pieces are made in a very good gauge of silver and they feel heavy in the hand.

This lovely five-piece silver tea and coffee service was made in 1947 by Mappin and Webb. .
