*Art Deco* - Four-Piece Silver Tea & Coffee Service
A wonderful original Art Deco four-piece silver tea and coffee service.
It comprises a teapot, coffee pot, sugar bowl and cream/milk jug. Each piece is oblong, with cut corners -- nearly octagonal! The pieces are all totally plain, with stylised silver bases. The teapot and coffee pot have beautiful carved ivory handles and finials. The sugar bowl and cream/milk jug have period silver handles.
This is a fantastic original Art Deco service. The pieces are a very good weight, and both the silver and ivory are in excellent condition. You will notice that the coffee pot has a lip, rather than a long spout. These days we would call it a hot water pot, but back in the 1930s, this was the style used in most Art Deco services for a coffee pot.
This beautiful Art Deco four-piece silver tea and coffee service was made in 1937/8 by Frank Cobb.
