George III Silver Candlestick - Recently Sold
A marvellous George III silver candlestick.
With a round fluted base, and half-fluted column.
Please note the very pretty chased garlands of leaves at the top of the column of this delightful silver candlestick -- most unusual for that period.
The candlestick has a detachable plain silver nozzle (bobache).
Made in 1786 by John Parsons of Sheffield.
It's rare for us to sell a single silver candlestick (most clients want a pair), but on this occasion the customer only had space for one. It's a very pretty Georgian design, especially with the garlands of leaves on the columns. Could we find you a special antique silver candlestick? Email us now.
- Height: 11 1/2 inches (29 cm)
- Diameter of base: 5 1/2 inches (14 cm)
