William IV Kings Pattern Silver Caddy Spoon 1831

An excellent William IV silver caddy spoon in Kings pattern.

It is unusually long and heavy for a caddy spoon. It has a beautiful fig-shaped shell bowl. The handle is engraved with a small contemporary crest.

This caddy spoon was a real find. It is bigger and heavier than any of the others in our stock. It was probably made to go with a full flatware service, hence the superior size and weight to match the other pieces. In our second picture, you can see a close-up of the main silver hallmarks -- the maker's mark is clearly stamped elsewhere on the back of the spoon.

This fine William IV silver caddy spoon was made in 1831 by William Chawner II of London.
